Ideal for fishing expeditions and family vacations, the Norcross Hawkeye FF3355P offers the latest in portable fish finder technology and is guaranteed to help you come up with better fish stories than ever before. Using an ultra wide, 45 degree sonar beam angle, this system delivers accurate depth, fish and bottom structure readings from 1.5 to 99.9 feet. Operationable down to zero degrees Fahrenheit, this unit includes a trollable, mountable, and floatable sonar sensor with 35 feet of cable and cable tie-strap. The FF3355P is exceptionally easy to use; simply turn the power on, toss the sonar sensor from the shoreline, bridge, or boat, and in no time flat you'll receive instant depth, fish, weed, and contour readings. With its "SideScan" adapter, the FF3355P can also attach to a broomstick handle to scan under weeds, lily pads, ice, or docks. For added convenience, this system comes with mounting tabs for hull mounting of your portable fish finder to canoes, kayaks, and jon boats. The FF3355P delivers reliable readings by using algorithmic programming. This reduces the number of false readings, while the unit's fish identifier, depth scale, and two-stage audible fish alarm ensure that you'll always know exactly what kind of fish you're closing in on. Designed to hold up under all kinds of conditions, the antenna is powered by four "AAA" batteries for 20 hours of continuous use, the backlit display prevents eye strain, and a special LCD protector eliminates condensation in the display. This portable fish finder features a palm-sized design that fits into your tackle box, gear bag, or pocket, making this an extremely versatile unit you'll rely on again and again.

| The hand held mobility of the device really helps when you are in the bright sun because you can change the angle easily to help avoid the glare. The device really helps a lot, more than I can image. I have dropped it a few times and it still works fine. In the past when we went fishing in a larger pond or lake, without knowing where the fish is and just relying on random guessing we would not have such a luck. With not too much cost at this sightat , this is a must have item if you plan to go boat-fishing on a lake. Some days, the fish just do not bite. It will save you lots of trial and error time and save you the frustration. I chose to buy this device based on the good review from other people who purchased it before. I took it out to a lake on a boat and it works very well. It gives the depth of the location and under water structure if it exists, or weed bed when it is present. When the fish swims by, it can let you know the depth of the fish just swimming by. After I observed the pattern of the fish depth, I set the hook/worm at the right depth and immediately we caught 1 muskie and 2 walleye within 20 minutes, each clam got us a result. |
Must have portable fishfinder - great product for the money

* Does what it says for a great price (bought here for $45)
* Accurate depth finder
* Doesn't show you a bottom "scan", it detects fish and indicates the relative depth.
* Has an audible alarm for fish detection.
* Detects the bottom type: structure and grass.
* Super portable and works fine in my plastic (rotomold) kayaks
* Can connect the detector to a broom handle, and point it in any direction underwater
I use this for kayak fishing, and the fisherman's bottom line - I've been catching more fish since I started using it. Couldn't find it anywhere before it got re-stocked on Amazon. My biggest concern was installation in the kayak. I found I could simply set the detector inside the bottom of the kayak, and it worked fine. No need to glue it in. The manual has a note about not working through plastic, but it works great on my two kayaks (a Native Watercraft and a Wilderness systems, both sit-in). The key is that you usually have to place the detector on the bottom first, then turn it on. It will then properly calibrate to shoot through the hull. (Assuming you're not using a sit-on-top with a double hull)
I would have paid $40 for a good portable depth finder alone. Kayak fishing on the Chesapeake, knowing your depth is key to finding fish. The other great feature is the bottom type detector. Oyster beds show up in the small "rock" icons on the display, which allows me to set up right over the bed. The fact that it also has a fish detector is a bonus. For those of you used to more expensive fish finders, the only downside to this device is that it does not have a scanning display. It uses algorithms to detect the bottom type (eg rocks, grass) and fish, and then indicates that on the LCD display. |
It never worked

| My wife and I bought the F33P as a gift for her dad at Christmas. He didn't open it until our fishing trip in July. Despite all attempts, the unit would never turn on. Since we didn't register it within two weeks of purchase, Hawkeye would not replace it. Total junk. |
just what I needed

I fish from a canoe and wanted a fish finder that was small, did not require a huge battery and gave basic depth and bottom types plus indicated fish. This does all I was looking for. I can put it in my shirt pocket. I get an additional benefit by holding the transducer and pointing it away from the canoe. and it does a great job of indicating fish up to 100 feet away.
Works just great. I am very pleased with this product. |

| screen doesn't show the actual bottom, not designed to show individual fish(as stated in manual-then whats the point of the finder???) directions show that you need to fish between the boat and the floating sonar...but you cant do a cast/retrieve at that short a distance. this product is not worth the money. |

| I was hesitant at first to order this, because of the low price. I thought it must be junk or poorly made to be so cheap. Man, was I ever wrong. I turned it on, cast it out by hand and within seconds it started giving me the depth readings and showed debris on the bottom. Then a fish came swimming by, then a bit later two fish, next to each other. All I have to say, is it's a great item. I love it! It's high quality made and worth much more. I believe it out-performs fish locator's that cost several hundreds of dollars. |

| After receiving the fish finder I wanted to test it out in my swimming pool. Well the readings were erratic and didn't make sense, so I thought it was a bad unit. A call to customer service got me right through to a rep and he explained that the unit will not work properly in a pool. He said in fact, that it was a good sign I was getting those readings because it showed the unit was working. Sure enough, the next time I used it was on the water where it worked perfectly. Great US customer service from this company. |
